I feel called to write this; though it may not be a popular view point in light of the recent damage and destruction experienced as the result of the increasingly prevalent natural disasters in some parts of the world.

In 2014, in a channeled message, I was invited to reawaken to a mission to help shift the consciousness of humanity, at this very critical point in human history on this planet.

To be honest, all of my life I have felt like an alien entity, placed here to observe the progress of humankind, within this reality. Often, throughout my life, I have found myself perplexed by the behavior I have witnessed or been affected by.

The reason I mention this channeled message from 2014, is because there was a line in it, that I found chilling at the time.  The first part of the message spoke about helping to connect humanity to their original blueprint and the barriers that are currently in place, which serve as obstacles to this reawakening.

After this part, came the phrase that was most concerning: “There are only a few years left to speed up this evolutionary process before the planet finally strikes back on a massive scale.”

2020 was mentioned as an evaluation point, by which time it was necessary to have seen a significant shift in the collective consciousness of humanity.

In my travels and contacts with indigenous peoples, their representatives, shamans, mystics and others who are intimately tapped into realms beyond the visible, including things that Falco, the spiritual founder of my own community of Damanhur shared before his transition, I heard this same warning about our Earth finally reaching a point of being fed up with the destruction perpetrated by the human species. Fed up enough to consciously fight back.

When I zoom out, and look at examples of the natural disasters that are ravaging humanity right now, I am struck by what seems to me to be the CONSCIOUS intelligence of this living planet clearly instructing, humanity, who appear to be an UNCONSCIOUS part of itself. Perhaps the widespread damage to existing structures, the loss of plant, animal and even human life are sacrifices that are part of a collective initiation process. One that makes no sense, unless we individually and collectively change our behavior and relationship to an existing divine matrix of life.

Humanity pulled oil from the body of this living breathing entity. Humanity devastated the wetlands around the Houston area and centered the largest oil refinery in the United States there, in a continued exploitation and expansion to meet its own needs, heedless of the pain this might be causing to a living breathing entity, the Earth herself, of which we are this unconscious part.

In a similar story, if looked at from this perspective, one must consider the devastating fires that ravaged Portugal earlier this year. The worst in history. Described as having been sparked by lightning, and then driven by “freakish weather conditions,” more than sixty people, countless plants and animals died and 118,000 hectors of land surface has been destroyed.

Or was it also cleansed?

A large part of what was covering the surface of that land, in addition to the homes and businesses of countless humans, was the monoculture cultivation of non-native Eucalyptus trees, Initially imported from Australia for use as erosion prevention, this Aussie import has become Portugal’s most common tree. It covers over 900,000 hectares, a quarter of total forest land, displacing native oaks, laurels and chestnuts. The species sucks up scarce groundwater, destroys competing native species and the habitat for native animal life. It is at the center of Portugal’s paper industry; one the country’s must financially important exports.

But at what cost to the body of this intelligent living, breathing entity, the Earth herself, of which we, humanity, are all an increasingly invasive part?

What I am seeing, is this great and intelligent entity, working to adjust the malignant parts of herself. What we, as humans, identify as freak storms, are conscious efforts on the part of a system of which we are the unconscious part, to balance herself again. Parts of the Earth body humanity creates without regard to the rest of the body system, the greater intelligence of the over-lighting entity is correcting in a deluge of storms and unprecedented rainfall, or in ravaging fires; reclaiming wetlands and territory unconsciously cultivated with non-native species, virtually instantaneously.

I do not write this out of a lack of empathy for those whose lives and livelihoods have been irreversibly altered by these devastating events. My desire is to point clearly to what is playing out, and is destined to get worse, in a way that might serve to bring awareness to a different world view. One that is aligned with the desire for conscious cooperation within the intelligent planetary system of which we are a part, rather than the confutation and conquering exploitation of this intelligent being, of which we are each a small, yet important part.

This is an except from a recent Manifesto, called “Defend the Sacred,” that I was involved in the writing of:

Humans have begun to separate themselves from nature, and to stand as a dominant species that tries to control the natural world, unleashing global devastation. Environmental crisis and inner crisis, violence against the Earth and interpersonal violence, are two sides of the same coin, the result of this fundamental separation.  We now unite as a planetary community to stand together for the sacred; to midwife entrance into a world in which humanity no longer dominates but cooperates with all life.

In the past months I have been exposed to more and more stories and information that have led me to the perspective I have shared above. Recently, I spent time with indigenous and First Nations people, who clearly walk the planet as part of it, not viewing themselves as separate from it. Having seen this wisdom embodied, first hand, I watched the film “Aluna,” in which the Mama’s (priests) of the Kogi tribe, reach out to the world to warn about the future of the planet. The  Kogi, a true “lost civilization,” are a tribe of indigenous people from the isolated mountain massif, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marie, in Columbia. They regard themselves as the guardians of the earth and have come forward with very specific warnings for “little brother,” us. Viewed through their eyes, the interconnectedness of all is clear.

A glimmer of hope from the center of the tens of thousands of hectors of fire devastated lands of Portugal. When it was safe, a family who had created a permaculture project and yoga retreat that was in the path of the fire, returned. They found their place, a green oasis, in the center of the blackened land. Though some of their outbuildings had burned, the heart of their project was untouched.

A message from our mother Earth?

I sat down to speak with Miguel, the man whose project was preserved by the raging fires:

    1. Hello Donna,
Thanks for your question. Miguel was speaking of: Tiokasin Ghosthorse, A member of the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation of South Dakota, Tiokasin has a long history with Indigenous activism and advocacy. He is the founder and host of “First Voices Radio”, authored several books, teaches as a guest faculty member at Yale University and was part of the Oceti Sakowin camp at Standing Rock. Tiokasin was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 2016 from the International Institute of Peace Studies and Global Philosophy.
